The main screen displays a map with the current location, speed, & altitude.
Tap the (Record) button to start recording your activities for the day.
Recording continues in the background while the screen is off,
and/or while using other apps.
you can also tap (Pause) to pause recording, and (Record) again to continue.
Data for the same day is captured under the date name in the format 'yy-mm-dd' (e.g. 24-12-25).
Capture a Run
From the main screen, tap (Menu) "3 lines" > (Dashboard).
Tap the (Play Arrow) to capture the stats for a single run.
Tap (Pause) at the end of the run. Note that tapping (Play) again
will start a new capture and the old one will be erased.
In-case you forget to turn recording and/or capture OFF,
they will be automatically terminated around midnight,
and also upon recording over 11 hours.
Playback
From the main screen, tap (Search). You get a list of days with their stats.
The stats can by displayed for only the descending portions of the runs,
by checking the box close to the top-right of the screen.
Tap on a day to get the runs of that day. Check the boxes for the runs you want to view/play.
If desired, the last run can be deleted by tapping the (Trash) button.
Go back to the main screen, and all the selected runs will play.
To play one run at the time, use the buttons on the top-right of the map.
The stats for the run being played will be displayed below the action buttons.
Use the slider on the bottom of the screen to play forward, reverse, slow, fast, or pause.
Tapping on the slider close to the 'Pause' position will single step forward or in reverse.
Tap Menu > 'Show MSpeed', and the max speed for every selected run will be displayed on the map
in the location it occurs. Speed values are displayed inside Green 'CircleAvatars'
Tap Menu > 'Show Stops', and the "Stop" time for every selected run will be displayed on the map
in the location it occurs. Stops times are displayed inside Red 'CircleAvatars'
A "Stop" is defined as not moving for 'x' minutes. 'x' is preset to
3 minutes, but you can change this in the setting menu.
Looking at the "Stops" shows how long you took a break, your waiting time for all chairs,
or getting stuck in a traffic jam.
The top of the screen will show your stats at any point in time.
To exit play mode, tap on (Pause) button.
You can try the "-demo" file, to check this playback mode, before recording your own runs.
Then you can delete this -demo file, by using the "Data Management" tool.
Data Management
From the main screen, tap (Menu) > (Files).
The app can share data with other devices running this app,
as long as the two devices are on the same HOME NETWORK, and displaying this management screen.
Make sure your router has "AP isolation" turned off.
For security reasons, public Wifi networks are not supported.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the remote device.
Then you can copy or delete selected files.
When copying from/to remote devices, you have the option of adding
a one letter suffix to the name of the file, as it gets copied.
This is useful when sharing data with friends to avoid the same file name conflict,
(e.g. you can add (A) to the files copied from Adam's device). Examples:
No-Suffix: 24-01-01 => 24-01-01
Suffix: A: 24-01-01 => 24-01-01A
Suffix: A: 24-01-01B => 24-01-01A
Off-line Maps
Off-line maps are useful when visiting locations with no internet service,
or to save on mobile data. Make sure you have a Wifi connection, and you are in 'playback' mode.
Use pan & zoom to frame the location of interest.
Then tap (Menu) > (Save Map).
The viewed map will be cached/saved in local storage, "This will take few seconds".
The stored maps will be used automatically when valid.
Maps Options
Ski Lines support Google maps and Open Street Maps.
In Oct-2024, Google stopped displaying ski chairs on their maps,
and it is not clear when/if they will start supporting this feature again.
Also, Google does not allow their maps to be stored for offline use.
It is recommended to use Open Street Maps while in ski resorts, or for offline maps usage.
To select the maps option, go to "Settings", and choose Google maps, or Open-street Maps.
You can also view the off-line storage size and max allocation(10/100MB).
Choose 100MB if your device is not short on storage space.
Other Platforms
Ski Lines is available on platforms Android, iPhone, MacOS, & Windows from the respective App stores.
